FROM THE STUDIO TO YOUR NEXT IDEA

Take your type with you.

A real TTF, with your details built in. Or a kit with your project, license and installation guide.

Use your custom TTF in the apps you love.

Install your TrueType font for Microsoft Office desktop apps and supported Adobe creative apps, or import it into Procreate. Upload it to Canva through Brand Kit on a plan with custom font uploads and the required permissions. In Cricut Design Space, install the font, reopen the app, and choose System fonts. More apps work too when they support custom TTF files.

Review every character and test your intended application. These are monochrome outline fonts; automatic kerning, connected-script shaping, and single-line pen lettering are not included.

About creating your own font

What is a TrueType font?

A TrueType font is an installable font file, usually ending in .ttf. It stores letter shapes as scalable outlines so supported apps can display and print your text at different sizes. TinkerTTF turns your reviewed lettering design into this real font file.

How do I make my own font?

Describe the letter shapes you want, optionally add a reference image, and select Start your Font Design. Review the alphabet in the studio, adjust your letters or request a revision, then export your custom TrueType font.

How do I install a TrueType font in Windows?

Download and unzip your font if needed. Right-click the .ttf file and choose Install, or open it and choose Install. Close and reopen Word, Adobe apps or Cricut Design Space, then select the installation name displayed in TinkerTTF.

Can I use my font in Word and Microsoft Office?

Yes. Install the TTF in Windows and select it in supported Office desktop apps such as Word and PowerPoint. Support for custom fonts in web and mobile apps varies.

Is this a font generator or a copy-and-paste font changer?

TinkerTTF is a custom font generator that creates an installable font file. Copy and paste text into the studio to preview your design. Copying that text into another app does not transfer the font: install or import the TTF and select it there. Unicode font changers work differently and do not create your own font file.

Can I keep earlier versions and download my font again?

Yes. The studio keeps project versions in this browser, with comparison and restore controls. Save project downloads a JSON backup containing the versions; Open project restores it. Keep that backup and your TTF files. Cloud account storage is not yet available.

Windows & Procreate installation

Windows: download the TTF, right-click it and choose Install. Procreate: save the TTF to Files, then Add Text → Edit Style → Import Font. Unzip the font kit first.

Output files are validated TrueType fonts. Test in your own target app before finished work; compatibility can vary by application and version.

About your font & license

Manual fonts customize Nunito, Lora, or Space Grotesk under the SIL Open Font License. AI fonts use outlines traced from their generated artwork. The font kit identifies the source and includes applicable notices.

Read the license ↗

Manual fonts include English and Latin-1 characters. AI artwork sheets target A–Z, a–z, digits, period, comma, exclamation mark, question mark, hyphen and ampersand. Only successfully traced characters are included. Monochrome silhouettes are exported; color, lighting and texture cannot be preserved in this TTF format. Automatic kerning and connected-script shaping are not included.

Your projects & references

Save project downloads editable JSON; Open project restores it. No accounts or cloud project storage yet. References are sent to our AI provider only with your consent when you start a font design or revision. The provider is OpenAI. Generated sheets are held temporarily for up to two hours and may expire earlier on a server restart or when the temporary cache fills. Download artwork to keep the image. Saved projects contain the vector outlines and can reopen without a server session. Descriptions are sent with each AI request.
