What is a font project? One initial font design, its included revisions, and the finished font download. A revision changes that same font; a separate new design uses another project. Revisions are limited per project and cannot be pooled. Keep using your downloaded fonts after your membership ends. Save project downloads a backup; browser history is not cloud storage.

What is a TrueType font?
A TrueType font is an installable font file, usually ending in .ttf. It stores letter shapes as scalable outlines so supported apps can display and print your text at different sizes. TinkerTTF turns your reviewed lettering design into this real font file.
How do I make my own font?
Describe the letter shapes you want, optionally add a reference image, and select Start your Font Design. Review the alphabet in the studio, adjust your letters or request a revision, then export your custom TrueType font.
How do I install a TrueType font in Windows?
Download and unzip your font if needed. Right-click the .ttf file and choose Install, or open it and choose Install. Close and reopen Word, Adobe apps or Cricut Design Space, then select the installation name displayed in TinkerTTF.
Can I use my font in Word and Microsoft Office?
Yes. Install the TTF in Windows and select it in supported Office desktop apps such as Word and PowerPoint. Support for custom fonts in web and mobile apps varies.
Can I use my font in Procreate?
Yes. Save the TTF to Files on your iPad. In Procreate, add or edit text and choose Import Font from the text controls. Select your font file and test the characters in your design.
Can I upload my font to Canva?
Yes, on a Canva plan with custom font uploads and the required Brand Kit permissions. Upload the TTF through Brand Kit and select it in your design. Font uploads are not included with every Canva plan.
Does it work with Adobe apps and Cricut Design Space?
Install your TTF as a system font for supported Adobe apps, including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. In Cricut Design Space, reopen the app, select System fonts and search the installation name shown in the studio. These are outline fonts for cutting, not single-line writing fonts.
Is this a font generator or a copy-and-paste font changer?
TinkerTTF is a custom font generator that creates an installable font file. Copy and paste text into the studio to preview your design. Copying that text into another app does not transfer the font: install or import the TTF and select it there. Unicode font changers work differently and do not create your own font file.
Can I create script fonts?
You can request script-inspired lettering and review the results in the studio. Automatic connected-script shaping and advanced kerning are not currently included, so test joins and spacing before using a script design.
Is TinkerTTF a free font download website?
TinkerTTF focuses on creating your own font rather than browsing a free font library. The planned single-project price is $5.99, with one initial preview before purchase. Payment and verified-email credit controls are still being connected; the current beta does not collect payment.
What will the font plans include?
The planned single project costs $5.99 and includes its font download and up to 3 revisions. Membership is $8.99 per month for 2 projects with up to 3 revisions each. Creator is $14.99 per month for 6 projects with up to 5 revisions each. Monthly project allowances do not roll over. Checkout is not yet active.
Can I keep earlier versions and download my font again?
Yes. The studio keeps project versions in this browser, with comparison and restore controls. Save project downloads a JSON backup containing the versions; Open project restores it. Keep that backup and your TTF files. Cloud account storage is not yet available.
Which characters are included?
Generated sheets target A-Z, a-z, digits, period, comma, exclamation mark, question mark, hyphen and ampersand. Only successfully traced characters are included. Review every character before export. The font contains monochrome outlines; color, lighting and texture from a reference image are not preserved.
